StarMOBILE Desktop Client Application support has been discontinued. Aftermarket customers are required to update to the wiTECH System.

Description:

StarMOBILE Desktop Client Application is no longer supported.  Due to TechAuthority system upgrades, aftermarket users that are still using the StarMOBILE Desktop Client application may not be able to login in through TechAuthority to download flash files. These users are required to update to the wiTECH System in order to have the ability to download flash files and for newer vehicles support.

For a period of 6 months, we will be allowing the existing StarMOBILE devices to be used with the wiTECH Diagnostic Application by issuing a temporary license. The StarMOBILE Desktop Client Conversion fee is USD $365 per StarMOBILE device.  This fee includes a one-time StarMOBILE device conversion, to allow use with the wiTECH software and 6 months of support from the wiTECH Premium Support Help Desk during the temporary license period.  To receive the temporary license, aftermarket facilities must register their facility and tool configuration with the wiTECH Premium Support Help Desk by following the procedure explained below.

Procedure:

The person responsible for the diagnostic tools should email the wiTECH Premium Support Help Desk at witechsupport@dcctools.com with their entire list of Chrysler StarMOBILE tools. This will allow for registration of ALL diagnostic tools at once. The email should include the following, or there may be a delay in registering the devices:

EMAIL CONTENTS
Subject Line: "StarMOBILE Desktop Client user – Request to register StarMOBILE tools and obtain wiTECH Software"

Include in Body of Email:

  • Contact Name
  • Contact Phone
  • Business Name
  • Business Address, City, State, Zip, Country
  • Diagnostic Tool Serial Numbers:
  • StarMOBILE (Cxxxx-xxxxx located on the bottom of the system status screen or on the tool belt loop)

After the email has been received, the wiTECH Premium Support Help Desk will provide instructions on the purchasing of the StarMOBILE Desktop Client Conversion Fee. After the required payment has been made and the registration process is complete, you will receive an email containing the wiTECH software download link.  An agent from the wiTECH Premium Support Help Desk will set up an appointment to convert the StarMOBILE device to the wiTECH operating system.

Note: During the temporary license period, Chrysler will be finalizing development on a variety of licensing and support options to make all tool configurations brought to Chrysler and wiTECH standards.  Aftermarket facilities may be required to purchase additional tools to meet the minimum requirements set forth by Chrysler and wiTECH in order to continue using wiTECH after the temporary license period.
