Change of Management (Service Manager, Service Director, Parts Manager) Results in Missing Login Credentials and Network Information

Article ID: 370
Last updated: 16 Oct, 2013

DESCRIPTION:

  • When there has been a change of management within the Dealership, the new manager may not have the login credentials for the Mopar Technical Service Portal and/or the wiTECH wireless security key (Wireless Passphrase).
  • This can greatly prevent the service area from operating at its optimum ability by placing a delay on the configuration of any newly acquired wiTECH Diagnostic Equipment, correcting a wireless troubleshooting scenario, and ordering new equipment or accessories.

Due to security reasons to protect the dealership’s network and account information, the wiTECH Premium Support Help Desk does NOT store the wiTECH Wireless Security Key (wireless passphrase) or the password for the Mopar Technical Service Portal.

Please note that access to the Mopar Technical Service Portal is limited to the Service Manager or higher, as anyone with access to this account may order additional equipment and place charges on the Dealer Parts Billing invoice.

It is the Dealership’s responsibility to store the wiTECH Wireless Security Key and the Mopar Technical Service Portal login credentials.

SOLUTION:

  • The wiTECH Premium Support Help Desk strongly recommends that when there is a change of management occurring within the dealership, that the new manager be notified by general management of the account information and wireless security key along with any other critical account/network information in accordance with the dealership’s internal policy.
